A Sibu-ian's Sunday

Whenever I'm back in Sibu,  i will usually do things that i don't frequent. For instance, I wake up early to attend a Sunday mass. Well, not the one in Vatican City but St. Teressa's Church @ Sungai Antu.

Then I ordered Tomato Kuey Teow during my family lunch at Chui Shian Court. If i will to order my "Wa Tan Hor" in KL with tomato sauce i wonder what will be the respond from the "Dai Chow" Sifu ? And i paid only RM3.50 for this plate and what ?? Rm5.50 in KL ??

Fried fish fillet with Oat. My first affair on this was in Sibu too. It was like a new trend when i first had it 7 years ago. This version is everywhere now. We paid RM 7 here in Sarawak and what ??? RM15 in KL.

They named it three colors egg. Century egg + salted egg + your normal egg. Creative enough but taste wise it failed miserably.

The Yu Lung San Tien En Si Temple/Pagoda. One of the symbolic tourism spot here in Sibu. Only if we do have a tourism industry.

The ever mighty Rejang river. The heart and soul of the indigenous.

The Kong Piang sharing the same crown with Kampua as the pride of Sibu's Foo Chaow. The Kong Piang are usually served in two different version, dry and wet. I prefer the soggy wet version.

Five flavor soup. Light and refreshing. Its status is like the cup of tea during the English tea time.

By the night, i find myself hardly have an inch in my stomach for extra food. But i still forced myself with this flat noodles version of Kampua for supper. All simply because it is very cheap. RM 2.20 for a plate. How can i resist that ?

And NO...I'm not exotic enough to savor this good creature. I'm not a big animal lover. But this one is just too adorable.

Sibu...I Love You

Flying to the moon. Sibu, home sweet home. Ever since you step into that little boarding platform to Sibu, you will be flooded with Foo Chow dialect from both your left & right. When literally 90 % on the airplane are speaking Foo Chow, you know that you are on the right flight.

I call this little town, home because it brings me comfort, love and calmness.

My Mummy will stuff me with her home cooking which make me feels eating home is like a race against food. And just in case if you are wondering, i have my meal cook, not raw.

Sibu is the only place that you can find pirated DVDs hanging/display on the rack as in nobody business. The usual rules and regulations do not work here ..... most of the time. ^-^

Sibu is so lovely that you have crystal clear blue sky.

That within a second, be expect to get yourself wet. It is so unpredictable.

Even the Sibuian's gecko/lizard like to drop their tail.

Kampua is like Sibuian's first love. It is not about how beautiful, how sexy she is. It is how she turn up to be your best companion whenever your sexual desire(Hunger) is on. We talk about memory, the sweetest memory of the first time. When we savour Kampua ever since as a toddler. First time is the deepest and i keep going back for more !!

Now you know how much I love Sibu.

Murni Discovery @ Aman Suria - When the East meet the West.

I decided to do another posting on Murni Discovery @ Aman Suria since they are gaining their reputation just as their counterpart in SS2 does. Ya ya...thanks to the word of mouth. Be expect to spare extra 20 to 30 mins of waiting time during dinner time.

Kampung fried rice with Chicken Napoleon and chips. The east-meet-west fusion.

This is the big ticket item of the meal, the chicken Napoleon. Or rather Chicken Kiev to me. It is a sausage been wrapped with a thick ham, coated by chicken meat and deep fried to crispness.

A close up on the Napoleon. A little overpriced @ RM 12 or RM13. I reckoned a better value with Betty's Midwest Kitchen which is located at the same area.

Roti Beckham. The ingredients are mince of chicken, sausage and ham in ala Murtabak style Roti wrap. A little boring despite its fancy name.

PS : I'm back in Sibu now. Hoorayyy.

The Fall of A Great Kingdom is The Rise of Another Hidden Dragon. Accenture @ Averis

As the old saying goes : All good things must come to an end. 07.01.2010 marks the full stop of my working life with Accenture which based at their client side, Averis. No more entry to Plaza Sentral.

No more early train catch.

No more "The most desirable breakfast" from Tony.

No more work hour celebrations.

 No more lunch hour gossiping.

What stays are the great memories of a decent team.

Moral encouragement and unselfish assistance.

 Great buddies to be missed.

Brilliant people to travel with.

We share the joys and tears.

Well taken care of.

People comes, people goes.

My turn arrived too.

Heart warming memories to be embraced for decades to go.

The End of Yet Another Chapter.

Marks The Beginning of A Brand New Era.

Glutton's Penang Journey - Final Recap

Georgetown is a lovely island city surrounded by crystal clear seafront. You can find a great mixture of the modern and the traditional. The heritage site in the central of Georgetown has enlightened me on the era of Francis Light landing as well as the earlier immigrants' life.

Been labeled as the food paradise in Malaysia. You can find street hawker stores at literally every corner of the street.

Public transport can be a very convenient way to travel around Georgetown with their Rapid Penang. The service is true to its name "Rapid". A much appreciated option than the cut throat taxi service in town.

Or you can take Komtar, the tallest of Penang as a landmark when you get yourself lost. Need no worries as you will see this skyscraper in almost every corner of Georgetown too.

The Kek Lok Si temple a Penang tourism's pride. A must visit if you want to do the usual tourist route.

A peace symbol that Adolf Hitler was adapting too.

Nutmeg juice, i had more than 10 cups of these when i was there. Refreshing. Apart from juice, nutmeg is available for medical purpose and pickled dry fruit.

A magnificent view of Georgetown from the Penang Hill. It is advisable to do both Kek Lok Si Temple and Penang Hill visits in the same day as both are relatively near to each other. Yeah, the tall building is Komtar. You will never get lost.

A lane to keep their loving affairs hence the name.

Food wise it was rather disappointing as we were only limited to the town area as well as Gurney Drive. We did not pose our own transport to hunt around the whole Penang for food. Perhaps next time around.

I lost big part of my Penang's photo shots and that was the biggest upset of the trip.
