KL Dragons VS Satria Muda Britama

Yet again another bad start. The KL dragons lost for the seventh time this season. Leaving the crowds as the disappointed group in the stadium. The Dragons were no longer in the comfort zone now. Extra effort needed to gain a spot in the playoff.

It was a game against the Indonesian Britama Satria Muda. A much more established and experience professional side than the dragons. It was indeed my honor to witness the encounter between the best point guards of the two neighboring nations. Guganeswaran(Ah Bi) against Mario Wuysang. Ah Bi the best of Malaysia used to play university level basketball in CUBA china. Mario Wuysang was a highschool basketball player in united state.

Lets not give up. The whole nation is behind the team. Lets go Dragons ! Lets go !

Bunkface, Zee Avi, Pop Shuvits & Caprice they are all Malaysian

The Malaysian English music scenes are springing up like mushrooms after the rain. Lets recall back in the 90s me and my daddy used to follow Jason Lo, nice stupid play ground & butterfingers on national TV. Those were the era when the KRU, Too Phat and Poetic Ammo were the mainstream entertainers in Malaysia. Today, we have the likes of Bunkface and Zee Avi making impact in our nation.

Zee Avi is a singer-song writer from Miri, Sarawak. She started to gain her fame through youtube. She is now attached to Jack Johnson's recording company. Great, heart melting voice.

Bunkface is arguably the most famous Malaysian band. Their hits included Silly Lilly, Situasi, Revolusi, Prom Queen and Through My Window which was feature in TMnet's TV advertisement.

Caprice, true as his lyrics goes. 21 years old (Perhaps 22 now after the new year.) A CEO of his own recording company. He is a talented, emerging rapper with a lot of dedication on his gigs, roadshows.

Pop Shuvit, a hiphop rock band which reminds me of the old Linkin Park genre of music. Oh!! Sizuka !!

Estranged, they were the opening act during MTV world stage 2009 in Sunway. Awesome live performance.

Restraint a Malaysian hard core band. If your are into something rough.

They Will Kill Us All (TWKUA) a band wih a  rather unique name. They remind me of Bloc Party from England.

Malaysian Musicians are equally talented. We should all give them some credits here. Most of their gigs are free of charge, why not make yourself available to support our local music ?

No ! We, Malaysian Are Not Racist !! We do not discriminate !!

I had been injected the mindset of racism ever since I was a toddler. My parents unintentionally divided our lovely society into obvious race groups rather than educating me to love each other. Their thought might be harmless but it is up to us to justify how our society shall be. Most of the Malaysian younger generation are well educated to aware on how vital of not been racist neither to discriminate in any form. Upset enough that I’m surrounded by this form of people. We are born as who and how we are meant to be. There is no pre-ordering from our parents on our skin colours, our religion neither on our race. We should all be graceful of this wonderful gift and learn to appreciate how other people are meant to be different from you.

We, the Malaysian like to blame and condemn on specific issue by pointing the finger on particular race itself. Let’s not label the Malay as been impolite in the government sector. I had seen the Chinese which are equally evil.  At the same time, I have met Malay which are well-mannered and respectful. We should all aware that it is the mindset that does the pollution not the race, the religion or the skin colours.

Once a foreigner commented that Thailand seemed to be a more unite country than Malaysia. Simply because Thais are bond together under one language. The uniqueness of being a Malaysian is we are all multilingual. The Bahasa Malaysia as the national language is meant to be the join among all the multi races. Now, how many of us mastered the language at least for communication purpose? Being a Chinese myself, I’m surrounded my people who will only willing to study Mandarin and neglected the importance of other languages. This is indeed naïve and narrow minded. Instead of complaining that the country does not giving you a chance why not to learn and to adapt as a part of the society.

Malaysia  is a wonderful country. A nation that have mosque, church and temple together in the same row, same location. A homeland where the people are celebrating all their festive season together. We should all be graceful of where we are now and starting to appreciate the different cultures around us.

Bar BQ Plaza @ One Utama

I was in One Utama today to try out Bar BQ Plaza. This is a steamboat + Barbecue restaurant chain originated from Thailand. I guess this explained my doubt on their advertisement which is always in Thai. The base in One Utama was their first branch outside Thailand.

You start of the barbecue by placing pork lard on the top of the grill. The heat will then melt the lard to generate oil for more succulent BBQ process. You can do your usual barbecue grill on the middle of the pot and "steamboating" on the side.

I had their supreme mix set, which comes with sliced chicken, beef sirloin , pork, bacon, squids, shrimps, Udon noodles and cabbages.

The freshness of the ingredient and the sauce are equally important at eatery like this. However, Bar BQ plaza failed miserably to my standard. It was indeed well below par with those frozen dry out meats and vegetables. This is the type of restaurant that I will have both my first and last visit on the same day.

The bacon is the finest to be barbecued. Sadly we had only four tiny slices.

The Cambodian steamboat that I had in Siem Reap was a way better version. At least I sensed sincerity from the restaurant to their customer. I felt well worth the value that I spent on.

The Char Siew War @ Aman Suria

A stiff Char Siew battle is going on in this peaceful lovely Aman Suria neighborhood. We, the gluttons are the one who benefit the most from their rivalry.

Restaurant Famous Seremban Char Siew is well known for their Hakka Mee along with their BBQ pork. Please find my previous entry on this restaurant here.

Curry Wantan Mee with Char Siew @ Kopitian 747. This Vietnamese version is induced by lemon grass and mint leave. The indochina touch make it stand up from the usual curry mee. The texture of the Char Siew appeared to be a little rough to my standard even though i ordered half lean half fat.

Restaurant Char Siew Chai is actually a chain restaurant. Their latest chain landed in Aman Suria, a neighborhood that started to become so synonym to Char Siew lovers. This restaurant has a rather unique way of preparing the noodles. The "Sifu" will throw and flip the noodles a few times in the air. This is claimed to reduce the moisture of the noodles which make their noodles so springy to taste.

All three restaurants are located merely few shops away from each other. This healthy competition has bring more eatery choices to the neighborhood. Each restaurant have their favorite visitors. My personal vote goes to Restaurant Famous Seremban for their caramelized crispy coating and melt in the mouth inner texture.
