Bunkface, Zee Avi, Pop Shuvits & Caprice they are all Malaysian

The Malaysian English music scenes are springing up like mushrooms after the rain. Lets recall back in the 90s me and my daddy used to follow Jason Lo, nice stupid play ground & butterfingers on national TV. Those were the era when the KRU, Too Phat and Poetic Ammo were the mainstream entertainers in Malaysia. Today, we have the likes of Bunkface and Zee Avi making impact in our nation.

Zee Avi is a singer-song writer from Miri, Sarawak. She started to gain her fame through youtube. She is now attached to Jack Johnson's recording company. Great, heart melting voice.

Bunkface is arguably the most famous Malaysian band. Their hits included Silly Lilly, Situasi, Revolusi, Prom Queen and Through My Window which was feature in TMnet's TV advertisement.

Caprice, true as his lyrics goes. 21 years old (Perhaps 22 now after the new year.) A CEO of his own recording company. He is a talented, emerging rapper with a lot of dedication on his gigs, roadshows.

Pop Shuvit, a hiphop rock band which reminds me of the old Linkin Park genre of music. Oh!! Sizuka !!

Estranged, they were the opening act during MTV world stage 2009 in Sunway. Awesome live performance.

Restraint a Malaysian hard core band. If your are into something rough.

They Will Kill Us All (TWKUA) a band wih a  rather unique name. They remind me of Bloc Party from England.

Malaysian Musicians are equally talented. We should all give them some credits here. Most of their gigs are free of charge, why not make yourself available to support our local music ?
