Happy One Week Anniversary @ My Chillout Lounge

I have been developing the urge to set up my own blog ever since i start browsing through random blogs on the internet. Unfortunately i have to say Kenny Sia was in fact the first Malaysian blogger i know. But he is not the one inspire me enough to set up "My Chillout Lounge".

Imagine if you are reside in a condo/apartment, these are how many blogging neighbours you will have. Everyone is a blogger !! Fair enough that you will find a ten year old to blog but even their grand-parents blog too. This is indeed blogger-lization.

I find blogging addictive. I spend time reading through other people blogs.I spend time structure and restructuring my blog. I spend time searching for photo to be uploaded and topic to blog about. I realized how difficult it is for someone like me who don't usually write to transform thoughts into words.  For post blogging, i spend time on innit nuffnang to promote my entry. I know i can skip the nuffnang part. The nuffnang monetize takes hell lot of effort anyway.  But i'm not planning to have a private blog either.

Today marks the one week anniversary of my Chillout Lounge. I registered my blogspot 11 months ago and left it vacant up till last Sunday. Then, here come 10 entries in mere 8 days. Yes !! I'm obsessed now, typing this entry in this wee hour. I wish to keep this blog updated at least a healthy 3 times a week. Here, as a space to trace my path. Happy One Week Anniversary and more to come !!

The Art of Char Siew. Restaurant Famous Seremban Char Siew @ Sunway Mas

I have to admit that i'm not the biggest fan of char siew (BBQ Pork) until i encounter this restaurant.

Unlike the rather plain and red colouring char siew that come with the Kam Pua noodles in Sibu. Restaurant Famous Seremban Char Siew @ Sunway Mas, Aman Suria  serves arguably the best char siew in town. This is a must try when you pay this restaurant a visit. You will notice their specialty on every customer's tables.

Do opt for half lean half fat version of the meat. I reckoned this version perfectly carry out the crispiness of the sweet caramelized BBQ coating as well as the tenderness of the inside. Those melt in the mouth texture is indeed something to die for. I learn about mastering, customizing and speciality of the art of Char Siew here. It revolutionized my perspective on those hard chewing Char Siew that usually been served in most of the other restaurants. It comes with a small plate of the sweet BBQ sauce which is the essence from the BBQ process.

Their Siew York (Grilled Pork) might be quite plain indeed. The Char Siew has very much empowered the grilled version. It will act as a substitution for those "Char Siew No No" person who pity enough to be the companion to this restaurant.

The Hakka Mee is my another much be-loved selection in this restaurant. I find the taste to be among the closest to home town Kampua noodles. I reckoned it to be the use of pork oil which is truly fragrance. It comes with ground pork on top to serve with.

I have developed this habit of having Hakka Mee with Char Siew every now and then for breakfast. It reminds me of how the Sibuian having a plate of Kampua as wake up call every morning.

Nasi Goreng with Ayam Pandan @ Murni Sunway Mas

I'm always a fan of restaurant which willing to spend that extra effort to twist their menu a little around. Those little twist on their food makes a big favour to food maniac like me. William's Mamak and his brother's Murni are those who break that routine rhythm. Murni's new branch @ Sunway Mas, Aman Suria has a very extensive menu and  comfy ambience. It is not as crowded as the initial one in SS2 as this one is still rather new.  The food is reasonably priced with no extra service charge. Unlike some of the restaurant which serve relative ordinary food yet charge that extra 15% tax which equal to the price of a meal itself.

It was my third visits in a week to this restaurant today. I was having their Nasi Goreng with Ayam Pandan and Cham Ice.  The fried rice was just divine with slight peppery taste.

The grilled chicken wrapped with Pandan leaf was simply heavenly. The touch of the Pandan and the tamarind marinated drumstick created perfect combination. You can even lick all the sweetness of marination on the Pandan leaf. Taste wise it is an A from me. Priced @ RM7, it formed a fabulous lunch choice of mine.

Steam Rice @ Restaurant Sin Kee off Jalan Tun Sambanthan

Steam rice@Restaurant Sin Kee has to be among the dishes that i will miss when i'm off to New Zealand. I'm pretty sure i will not be able to find this version in the Kiwi land.

Restaurant Sin Kee is one of oldest Chinese restaurant in Brickfields "Little India" area which is known for Indian banana leaf rice. Sin Kee is getting fame not only among the Chinese but the Indian community as well. Sin Kee is literally packed for lunch. Which is why iIwill usually go for late dinner or late lunch on Saturday.

As the rule goes, Steam Rice is a must when you are in Sin Kee. We ordered the pork steam rice for the night instead of the usual seafood version. It comes with a lots of stuffs like pork, Chinese sausage, fish cakes, fried eggs, squids, cabbages and indulged with its' light gravy.

To go with the steam rice, we ordered ourselves Steam Pork with Salted Fish from the ala carte menu. Presentation wise it was good. But i have never been impressed with Sin Kee's ala carte dishes. I had tried on number of occasions and it was a let down every times. We felt like we had been conned big time with this dish. It was Tau Fu in the middle with few slices of pork by the side for a blood sucking 15 bucks. What a disgrace.

Their soup of the day, the white radish soup. It was nicely done. In fact I like any soup with white radish in it. A credit from me for the soup. These sums up my dinner of the night.

This was the Seafood Steam Rice that I had on the other occasions. They are generous with their prawns and squids indeed. Top notch for RM7. At Sin Kee, you cannot go wrong with their Steam Rice version. Ala carte menu, you judge it yourself.

Sin Kee's speciality menu has both local and Western influences. One of my pick on their Westernised dish will be the Fish & Chips. The delicacy that do the Brits proud. Trust me, an authentic Fish & Chips cannot be just pure simple fried fish. It pretty much down to the quality of the fish that you used. Sin Kee's version ain't bad at all @ RM13. The fish is thick enough for you to enjoy and the chips are the real cut of potatoes. I'm not a big fan of those flour based chips/French fries.

How much I miss those battered Fish & Chips with bits of salt and malt vinegar @ the take away by the Seaburn beach.

Malaysia 1 - Vietnam 0 (Laos Sea Games 2009 Men's Football Final)

The Malaysian Football has done the nation proud by winning this much-anticipated gold in Laos Sea Games 2009. The 20 years gold drought had finally ended tonight in Main Stadium of the National Sports Complex @ Vientiane. Thanks to the 85th minutes own goal from the Vietnamese that awarded our country probably the most valuable gold of Laos 2009. Malaysia 1 - Vietnam 0 (Laos Sea Games 2009, Men's Football Final)

I did not get the chance to follow the match live due to work commitment. I hope Malaysian team were doing well enough to deserve the gifted goal from Vietnam. Anyway, credits should be given to our U23 boys. They had been magnificent through out the whole tournament. Despite losing 1-3 to Vietnam during the group match, we managed the biggest scoreline of the games by scoring 11 to nothing against Timor Leste. 4 - 0 win against the Cambodian, a 2-1 win over the defending champion Thailand and 3-1 semifinals swap against the home crowd supported Laos. I pretty much has to say we deserved the final cheer.

Lets hope the triumph will serve as the golden return to our once glorious football era. To serve as a big lift to our local Malaysian football league. To wake up the nation's support on Malaysian football. To switch the nation attention every Saturday from the English football league back to our much vacant local stadiums.

If I will to be a Tycoon someday, this is where my cash going to flow. The Sarawak FA Aka Bujang Senang, The Crocs. They need a lift too to regain their old fame.
