The Art of Char Siew. Restaurant Famous Seremban Char Siew @ Sunway Mas

I have to admit that i'm not the biggest fan of char siew (BBQ Pork) until i encounter this restaurant.

Unlike the rather plain and red colouring char siew that come with the Kam Pua noodles in Sibu. Restaurant Famous Seremban Char Siew @ Sunway Mas, Aman Suria  serves arguably the best char siew in town. This is a must try when you pay this restaurant a visit. You will notice their specialty on every customer's tables.

Do opt for half lean half fat version of the meat. I reckoned this version perfectly carry out the crispiness of the sweet caramelized BBQ coating as well as the tenderness of the inside. Those melt in the mouth texture is indeed something to die for. I learn about mastering, customizing and speciality of the art of Char Siew here. It revolutionized my perspective on those hard chewing Char Siew that usually been served in most of the other restaurants. It comes with a small plate of the sweet BBQ sauce which is the essence from the BBQ process.

Their Siew York (Grilled Pork) might be quite plain indeed. The Char Siew has very much empowered the grilled version. It will act as a substitution for those "Char Siew No No" person who pity enough to be the companion to this restaurant.

The Hakka Mee is my another much be-loved selection in this restaurant. I find the taste to be among the closest to home town Kampua noodles. I reckoned it to be the use of pork oil which is truly fragrance. It comes with ground pork on top to serve with.

I have developed this habit of having Hakka Mee with Char Siew every now and then for breakfast. It reminds me of how the Sibuian having a plate of Kampua as wake up call every morning.

What they serve with kampua here is NOT char siew...just boiled pork, coloured red on the outside.

That was the only thing I liked about wanton noodles in the peninsula - the char siew. Not crazy over the noodles and all the oily black sauce.

Now we have a few places making very good char siew and stuff...and there are now some coffee shops here selling kampua or other noodles with char siew - the real thing! I think I had a post on one sometime ago...

The Hakka mee reminds me of the kolo mee in Kuching. A lot of Hakka there (before the Foochow invasion), so I dunno if they are the same or at least similar in some ways. For one thing, both have minced pork...

hmm..u have a point here...perhaps i shdn't call meat pieces on display with Kampua as char siew anymore. I agreed that the wantan mee here is pretty plain with just dark soy sauce and oil. But some of the stalls serve rather good egg wantan mee...i guess when it comes to wantan mee...it's the springiness of noodles that count.

Yes..the Hakka mee is indeed very similar to Kolo mee of kuching. My buddy from kuching agreed upon too. He claimed this as the long lost brother settled at the other part of the south china sea
